President & Chief Executive Officer Mehdi Amjad’s customer-focused vision has transformed Omniyat Holdings into one of the fastest growing and most significant forces in the real estate industry in the region.
At an exceptionally young age, Mehdi exhibited a deep interest in the trading activities of the family business that had been nurtured over three generations. In 1995, he started Al Masa computers, his first small business in Dubai, marking the beginning of his distinguished commercial success. Through his vision, passion and ability to orchestrate all resources to make it happen, Amjad was able to grow this small shop into a major IT regional conglomerate with a distribution network covering MENA & CIS countries & US$450M annual turnover in 2006.
His passion for real estate first materialized in 2001 under Al Masa Holdings, which was later renamed Omniyat Properties in 2004, a fully focused business to address market demands in real estate.
His outstanding technical and managerial achievements contributed to the accelerated growth of this entity to become a major private developer with a unique focus on intelligent buildings/cybertecture. Omniyat’s focus was from its inception on developing iconic projects and creating different experiences that touch people’s lives (including futuristic, innovative & high-tech buildings), thus forever transforming what people expect from their future homes & offices.
Mehdi’s development philosophy is based on a paradigm utilizing advanced technology shaped by his Al Masa background and merged with the best talents in architects, designers, contractors, and consultants. Being a pioneer explains the success of launching the highly differentiated towers at Business Bay: the Binary, the Gemini, the Pad, & the Opus. Omniyat’s current project portfolio exceeds US$3Billion.
The creation of Omniyat Holdings reflects Mehdi’s deep appreciation of the entire value chain of the real estate market. Hence Investate Realty B.S.C (capitalized at US$100M) was created in 2007 for the purpose of real estate investment banking activities. This entity is in the process of being licensed as an investment bank under the regulation of the Central Bank of Bahrain.
Omniyat means “wishes” in Arabic and its vision reflects Mehdi’s business initiatives to become one of the most respected and successful privately owned premium Developers in the region, with international recognition as a “world-class” company.
