Zaha Hadid, London

Zaha Hadid is one of the world’s most respected and well known architects. She was chosen as the 2004 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize making her the first woman to be named Laureate since the founding of the award 26 years ago. 

Zaha Hadid is an architect who consistently pushes the boundaries of architecture and urban design. Her work experiments with new spatial concepts, intensifying existing urban landscapes in the pursuit of a visionary aesthetic that encompasses all fields of design, ranging from urban scale through to products, interiors and furniture.


During her career Zaha Hadid has held prestigious posts at some of the world’s finest universities including Harvard, Yale, and many others. Some of her other high profile works include the Cardiff Bay Opera House, Wales (1994); the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome, Greenwich, London, UK (1999), The Centre for Contemporary Arts, Rome (1999) and the BMW Central Plant Building in Leipzig (2002).
