Foster + Partners, London
Founded Over four decades, Foster + Partners quest for excellence has embraced not only architecture but also infrastructure and products. Many works have become landmarks - symbols of their place. These may be parliament buildings, centers of culture, towers or bridges. In each case, the social agenda will have been a strong generator; this particularly applies to the workplace, schools, universities, libraries, residential and medical research buildings.
The practice is led by Norman Foster as Chairman with Spencer de Grey and David Nelson as Deputy Chairmen, and Graham Phillips as Chief Executive. This core group has worked closely together for more than thirty years and forms the executive board, which is responsible for the strategic direction of the practice. Alongside this group, the office is organized into six design groups, led by senior architects chosen for their proven track record over many years in the practice - a combination of creativity, attention to detail, delivery and management skills.
